SBDM (Site Based Decision Making) Council Meeting
July 31, 2024
CALL TO ORDER:
The July, meeting of West Hopkins School SBDM council was called to order by Principal Eric Stone at 10:00 a.m. SBDM members that were present during the meeting include Eric Stone, Mary McBride, Jessica Watts, Sherry Towe, Detra Eichhorn, and Kirsten Plunkette .
Principal Eric Stone called the meeting to order.
Sherry Towe motioned and was seconded by Detra Eichhorn to approve the agenda.
Sherry Towe motioned, and Kirstin Plunkette seconded to approve the minutes from last month.
PRINCIPAL'S REPORT
Mr. Stone reported to the West Hopkins council that the custodial team has worked very hard at getting the school prepared for Opening Day. The Open House Plan was discussed.

STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT
Nothing to report at this time.
ATTENDANCE REPORT
Current enrollment- Middle school 103 students
Elementary 169 students
Total – 272 students
FINANCIAL REPORT
Site Base members reviewed the 2024/2025 budget.
REVIEW OF POLICY/PROCEDURES
West Hopkins SBDM will conduct policy revisions during this academic school year.
NEW BUSINESS
- New members were briefed on the SBDM work from 2023/ 2024 school year.
- The West Hopkins SBDM will meet on the 3rd Wednesday of every month at
3 p.m. in the West Hopkins conference room.
- Kirsten Plunkette motioned and Jessica Watts seconded to nominate Sherry Towe to serve as vice chair.
- Detra Eichhorn motioned and Sherry Towe seconded to nominate Mary McBride to serve as secretary.
- Members want to be notified of special called meetings through email and text messages.
- Detra Eichhorn motioned and Sherry Towe seconded to approve the staff hand book.
- Detra Eichhorn motioned and Sherry Towe motioned for approval of the Supervision of Students Plan.
- Kirsten Plunkette motioned and was seconded by Sherry Towe for the approval of the EOP.
- Kirsten Plunkette motioned and was seconded by Sherry Towe for the approval of the Space schedule.
- Jessica Watts motioned and was seconded by Detra Eichhorn for the approval of the Amended PD plan.
- Sherry Towe motioned and Detra Eichhorn seconded to go into closed session.
- The current need for new personnel was discussed.
- Sherry Towe motioned and Jessica Watts seconded to return to open session.
- Members received a copy of the Open records and Meetings Acts.
- Freedom of Speech and Religious Freedom were shared with all members.
- Records retention document was shared with all members.
- Parent members were notified of the Cabinet for Health and Family services Requirement.

Detra Eichhorn motioned and was seconded by Jessica Watts to adjourn the meeting.
Meeting adjourned at 12:00 p.m.
